ABACUS
Funded by the European Commission, the ABACO (Agro-ecology Based Aggradation-COnservation agriculture) project aims to reduce the vulnerability of small farmers in semi-arid areas of Africa to climate change. Through co-innovation platforms, the aim is to invent, evaluate and implement technical solutions inspired by conservation agriculture and agro-ecology to better reduce the degradation of soils and food insecurity.
In semi-arid regions, small farmers are extremely vulnerable to climate change. They are the first to be affected by soil degradation and food insecurity. This project aims to involve them in innovation platforms intended to design with researchers, evaluate and implement technical options, based on the principles of agro-ecology, and mechanisms for the adoption of agriculture. conservation to combat food insecurity.
